I totally get it.
While I'm completely confident in sketching fashion illustrations using brush tip markers now, that wasn't always the case. When I first started, I felt like a fish out of water.
The elongated fashion proportions were foreign to me and using markers was a completely new experience. I was terrified of drawing faces. My markers kept streaking. I struggled to blend colors and achieve the effects that make illustrations look realistic.
Despite those roadblocks, I kept coming back to my creative practice and after years of trial and error, I've figured out how to master a variety of marker rendering techniques and create beautiful fashion illustrations that I'm truly proud of.
Those illustrations have since helped me land fashion design jobs, win design contests, score invites to New York Fashion Week, launch my art business, collaborate with amazing brands, explore my creativity and celebrate my love of fashion!
In this course, I'm sharing my entire fashion illustration process with you from start to finish!
Hi there! My name is Joanna
I’m a professional artist living in New York City with my husband and our cat, Junebug. I have a passion for illustrating and creating beautiful things, and I love encouraging others to pursue their own unique creativity.
Since leaving my corporate fashion design job in 2015, I've turned my illustration hobby into a multi-faceted creative business - running my illustration shop, creating commissioned artwork, licensing my illustrations and now teaching others how to create their own beautiful work too.
My journey into teaching began with Instagram, posting work-in-progress videos and sharing mini drawing tutorials on YouTube. After getting lots of requests for more in-depth instruction specifically geared towards beginners, my first online illustration course was born.
I'm eager to share all of my best marker illustration secrets with you so that you can skip past the wasted time & frustration and begin sketching what you love!
This course is composed of step-by-step mini lessons leading up to the creation of three complete fashion illustrations.
If you're thinking "I don't have much experience, is this course for me?" or "I've tried before and I just can't draw."

Yes! Every time I make an update to the course, you'll gain access to the new course content as soon as the update launches at no additional cost.
Do I need Copic Markers to make the most of the lessons?
Nope! You don't need to use Copics specifically but you will want to use markers that have a brush tip. There are a variety of brands available that feature a brush tip on one end of the marker (it looks like a little paint brush).
